This hike is rated DIFFICULT!

Best hike around! Can't guarantee snow, but it is winter. Come out and hike in the eastern part of the McDowell's, the Tom's Thumb Trail! The path runs through some of the most spectacular areas in the valley. The trail goes straight up about 1000 ft over the course of the first mile. There are great views of the preserve and Fountain Hills. You're encouraged to bring snacks, sun protection of some sort, water, and sturdy hiking footwear. Cameras are not optional on this one, trust me!
