12-MILE HIKE AT WSSP
Details
Everyone is invited to join us for a 12-mile hike. Meet us in Sand Lake Parking Lot at 10 AM Saturday morning the First. A reservation system has made entering the park easier. At home beforehand, go to:
floridastateparks.org
drop down menu in upper left corner, click "Find A Park".
Enter WEKIWA and Wekiwa Springs State Park will populate. Click.
Click on blue-highlighted "Day-Use Reservation page".
From the yellow rectangular button, follow the prompts. Any problems,
when you get to the Ranger Station, tell the ranger.
The Admission Fee will be $4 or $6 online, depending on the occupancy of your car.)
ATTENTION: DIRECTIONS FOR WSSP ARE IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH.
If your GPS directs you to Wekiwa Springs State Park by highways 46 or 429, abort. The GPS should take you from Interstate 4 to SR 434, right on Wekiva Springs Road and go 4 miles. At Mile 3, there's a mile-long turn lane for park guests. Once you have gotten to the front gate, turn in. When you come to the Ranger Station, show the QR Code in the e-mail you received.
Come already hydrated. Kids and dogs who can do the mileage are welcome.
