Linville Gorge Hike/Dinner

Details
Let's try again!! We will meet at the Harris Teeter gas pumps in Clemmons at 8:00!! (4150 Clemmons Rd-across from Tanglewood park), then drive 2.5 hours to the Table Rock parking area. Hopefully the access road to the area will be rebuilt by then.It is off Forest road 210. The road is rough, but 4 wheel or AWD is not necessary. From here we will hike to the chimneys with numerous superior views along the ridge, Then hike along the NC Wall, an unofficial trail with almost nonstop spectacular views of the gorge. This will be about a 3.5 mile hike roundtrip with options for more if time allows. 30% strenuous, 45 % moderate, 25% easy. From May through October we will brush up against shrubs so we will have to watch for ticks. I have scheduled another hike on Sat, 10/4 and depending on the forecast and my work schedule, I will cancel one or the other. Please bring lunch for the trail, water, layered clothing, $ for dinner and carpool, Hiking boots with ankle support is mandatory (part of the trail has rocks and roots and you can't see them for the leaves). Fashion boots won't cut it. Please pray fair weather. We will eat in Morganton afterwards - Las Salsas. I think we will be done hiking at 5 to 5:30 pm. For those eating dinner, I think we will get back to Clemmons no later than 9.
