The Hike:
Route on AllTrails
Route on MyMaps
This hike starts from the parking lot on Irvington Road which was dedicated on Nov 02, 2022.
The hike starts with a low meandering route on the Creosote Loop trail which has more mammillaria cactus than anywhere else we have hiked. We will then pick up the Rocky 13 trail which climbs a craggy hillside to the summit. When the summit is reached, we leave busy, noisy Irvington Road behind and enter a quiet Saguaro forest with nice views of the Catalina Mountains. Will then drop down to Camaro Trail.
We will trend west on the Camaro Trail with Big Cat Mountain dominating the view. When we reach the Sunset Trail, we will continue west for about .60 miles to get a good look at a Crested Saguaro.
We will then backtrack to the Camaro Trail and continue the loop which takes us past the trail's namesake. Here we will take a snack break before hiking the Rocky 13 and Creosote trail back to the parking area.
Although there is minimal elevation gain, these trails are rough and rocky, like most trails in the Tucson Mountains.
RSVP etiquette:
• Sign up only if you really intend to come

• If you change your mind, take yourself off the Going or Wait list
• Please don't be a no-show
Be sure to bring adequate water, food, trekking poles, etc.

As we are hiking, let's all try to keep our conversations ***only loud enough*** for those to whom we are directly speaking to hear.
Doing this will show our respect and consideration for other hikers who want to relax and enjoy the quiet space of our beautiful Sonoran Desert.
And we should all take a break from our conversations now and then and contribute to the peace and quiet of the hike.
