Volunteering to Pack School Supplies for Underserved Schools Around the Country
Details
Please consider joining us to ensure every student has the supplies they need to succeed!
So far this year, volunteers have helped pack over 100,000 backpacks and over 10,000 supply boxes for teachers and students around the country. As the year comes to an end, Kids in Need Foundation (KINF) is making one more push to get supplies into the hands of teachers and students when they return to school after winter break.
MEET @ 9:15 a.m.
Shift starts at 9:30 a.m.
*Keep your RSVP firm or update any change 24 hours before the event, because we commit to Kids in Need Foundation for the number of spots reserved. (No-shows not allowed).
This Meetup event will include a brief orientation, tour of the KINF Teacher Resource Center, and the volunteer session.
- Volunteer sessions consist of assembling backpacks or boxes with essential school supplies that will be delivered to qualifying under-resourced schools for the Supply A Student or Supply A Teacher programs.
- Additional volunteer tasks include helping to prepare the products (taking items out of the packaging, sorting, etc.) for assembly, and/or sorting and organizing products for our KINF Teacher Resource Center.
Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a nonprofit organization that believes every child in America deserves equal opportunity and access to a quality education, provides the support and tools needed for teachers to teach and learners to learn.
By providing essential school supplies, distance learning resources, and other classroom items in high demand, KINF partners with teachers in underserved schools, with a focus on those with a student enrollment of 70 percent or more eligible for the National School Lunch Program, to ensure students are prepared to learn in the classroom.
