If we grow with the seasons, winter is the time to reflect, to reset, and to work on the things we often bury deep within ourselves.

Before blooming spring invites us to flourish, winter guides us to sit in the cold dark nights, allowing us to come face to face with our mysterious shadows.

Today, I welcome you to greet a daunting, unsettling shadow and that is facing forgiveness.

This phrase is different from finding forgiveness. Facing forgiveness challenges you to come to terms with what has happened, to accept that the experiences you’ve gone through are over. The only reason anger, resentment, or pain continues to surface is because it is a choice we keep making.

When you face forgiveness, it can feel like reliving the very thing you tried to avoid and that is sitting with an uncomfortable reality. But instead of fear and anger, you meet it with acceptance. There is no sudden arrival of answers or solutions, only a nudge from your heart, begging to be heard, asking you to choose yourself. An ache for transformation.

It’s a reminder that you always have a choice. A quiet whisper asking, “What are you choosing today?”

Write or share a piece that resonates with what facing forgiveness looks like for you. Have you crossed paths with it? Or is it something you continue to struggle with?

Allow yourself to release your words, and maybe, just maybe that’s another step toward forgiveness.

Remember, the theme is for those who like having something to work with.

All work is welcome. đź’š
