Upper Valley 20s & 30s Hiking and Adventure Group

Hello, everyone! I am planning an easy hike at the Boston Lot Conservation area in Lebanon, NH. The hike starts out as a walk along a gravel hiking trail alongside scenic flowerbeds and then becomes a wooded hike along well-marked trails. We will be traveling via the Water Tower, Albert's Path, Joe's Path, and Indian Ridge Trails. It will be a 3-mile hike with an elevation gain of 495 ft. The featured photo is one that I took on a previous visit. There are some very beautiful views! Dogs are welcomed at this location, but must be kept leashed.

Please bring the following gear for this event:
Water (at least 2 bottles)
Hiking Shoes
Insect Repellent
Snacks (as needed)

We will meet at the Boston Lot Hospital Trailhead. This trailhead is located in a gravel, looped parking lot off of Lahaye Drive on the Opposite side of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center: please refer to the included map pin for driving directions. Make sure to avoid parking in spaces prohibited by “no parking” signs. I can’t guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool!

Plan to arrive at the parking lot for 9:00am. When I arrive, I will post a comment in the comments section to confirm my location. We will wait 15 minutes for friends to gather before starting the hike. I have allocated 3 hours for this event, but we will travel at our own pace and stop for breaks along the way. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are concerned about the difficulty of this hike. I want friends to feel comfortable and assure that our pace won’t leave anyone behind.

Hi everyone! I’m planning a foliage hike at Mt. Cardigan in Orange, NH. The hike will be a moderate, 3-mile out-and-back hike with an elevation gain of 1,181 ft. We will be traveling via the West Ridge Trail. The featured photo is one that I took during a previous visit. This will be an excellent location to see the foliage on surrounding trees and mountain tops! Dogs are welcomed at this location, but must be kept on a leash.

Parking for Mt. Cardigan is located in a spacious parking lot at Cardigan Mountain State Park: the parking lot address is 699-643 Cardigan Mountain Rd, Orange, NH 03741. Although I don’t anticipate parking to be an issue, I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool.

Parking for the Northern Rail Trail Trailhead is located near Colburn Park: I recommend parking in the parking lot located at 0 Flynn St, Lebanon, NH 03766. This lot is very spacious and has designated areas for all day parking.
