Spring Hill Homeschool Kickball (Pre-K - 4th Grade)

Hey Spring Hill, TN Homeschoolers!

My name is Dusty and I started Valiant Voyages to connect dads and their kiddos in nature but we have a big heart for family activities as well!

Join us for Informal Kickball and Reading .... wait, what? Reading?

Here is the thought...
I'll help facilitate team captains in a fun a way. The team captains can take turns choosing their teammates and I'll help make sure it's a balance of older and younger kiddos per team.

We will enjoy some non-competitive play for about 40 minutes or until interest seems to start fizzling out.

I'd encourage you to bring a blanket or quilt and your child's favorite or new book! After game play I was thinking it would be fun to slow down and team the older ones up with the younger ones into small groups.

The older kiddos can practice reading the younger ones. I'm not sure if your children will be open to that idea but my 9 year old loved the idea of reading to the little ones.

We have a 9 year old and a 4 year old. Our younger one has been struggling with the idea of losing a game and so my hope is that we learn team play, good sportsmanship, communication, and have fun running after each other with the ball.

I think to keep things safest, we will keep the tag out rule for starters and see how everyone does. My hope is that the game is less about scoring and winning and more about passing and running to get some energy out.

I'd recommend bringing a water bottle, a book, and blanket, and some snacks for your children. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, so not sure what to expect but hoping to just keep fun at the top of everyone's list and make sure everyone feels included.
