World Laughter Day
Details
It is World Laughter Day. An actual global holiday dedicated to laughing. Which means, for once, laughing for no reason is not only allowed, it is encouraged.
So why not celebrate it properly, in a park, with a bunch of friendly strangers who are all in on the same wonderfully weird idea.
We will gather, we will start laughing on purpose, and then at some point it stops being on purpose. That is where the magic happens.
No jokes, no comedy skills required, no pressure to be funny. In fact, if you are thinking “I am not a laughter person,” you are exactly who this is for. Laughter Yoga uses simple exercises, breathing, and a bit of playful silliness to help real laughter show up all on its own.
If you are new, this is the perfect day to try it. The whole world is celebrating, you might as well join in.
What to expect
Guided laughter exercises that feel a little strange and then surprisingly great
Gentle movement and breathing
A group of humans celebrating joy on purpose
The very real possibility that you leave in a better mood than you arrived
Bring some water and a willingness to try something different.
Come celebrate. Come curious. Leave lighter.
