It’s Car Free Day

Details

Street photography is a genre of photography that captures candid, unposed moments of everyday life in public places, aiming to tell a story or reflect the human condition.

If you are not familiar with street photography, I highy suggest you do a google search for recommended lenses, framing etc.

WHAT CAN I PHOTOGRAPH? The genre relies on random encounters, capturing moments of chance within an urban setting. While people are often the focus, street photography can also depict objects or environments that convey a distinctly human character or story.

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO FOLLOW THE THEME OF THE WALK, FEEL FREE TO ATTEND ANYWAY

WHERE WILL MEET: We are going to MEET FOR COFFEE FIRST at JJ Bean - Main & 14th at 10:30. If you are unable to join us for coffee, we will meet you outside at 11:30. The event officially starts at noon. We thought ½ hour to wander atound before the crowds arrive might allow for interesting images of vendors and merchant’s setting up.

We have chosen to do this on
Car Free Day. Main Street will be closed to traffic between 10th Avenue and 30th Avenue

How do I get there? The event strives for festival goers to find environmentally friendly ways of transportation to reduce carbon footprints.

It is easily accessible by transit, biking or walking distance.
Car Free Day Main Street is minutes away from bus routes 3, 9, and 25, depending on where you want to enter the festival.

Canada Line’s King Edward Station is also just a 15-minute walk away. Bike Valet will also be there, so you can ride and park your bike with ease.

You can also ride with Mobi Bike Share to this event.
