Granville Island Public Market
Details
Hi All,
The weather is looking very unsettled this weekend so let’s play if safe and go to The Granville Island Market … it’s always dry inside and a great place to wander.
Let’s use the area by Blue Parrot Coffee as a starting point. (If you want to have a coffee before starting out they are open at 7:30am). If you’re interested in capturing a few outdoor shots before we start, the early morning might be nice.Sunrise is at 7:40. There’s also very little traffic at this time.
I am suggesting an 8:30 am start, because the market is not officially open but the merchants are pretty much ready. This will also have us out of there before the crowds arrive Of course you can stay as long as you like.
Bring any camera and lens you like …. Your phone camera is fine too!
There is ALWAYS lots to photograph at the Market so feel free to wander and snap away. But if you want to step it up a notch, why not challenge yourself? Pick a theme and try to stick to it ….. it can be anything, but here’s some ideas
Spooky (it Is the season) ….. Food (Cooked? Baked? Raw?) People (Working? Eating? Brousing?) a colour, a shape, a number …. Use your macro lens ….. Things that begin with the letter “B” or any other idea you may have to personalize your experience..
If you rsvp and cannot attend please change your RSVP accordingly. It’s not fair to the other members to hang around waiting for you to show up.
If you are running late please don’t DM me use the meetup itself to communicate.
If there are less than 5 participants, we reserve the right to cancel this meet up
At all times, please be mindful of yourself, your fellow photowalkers, your property and your surroundings.
Vancouver Photowalks and its organizers are not responsible for you or your property. If you feel unwell in any way, please stay home. By signing up to attend this meet up, you acknowledge these rules.
For information on transit, please visit www.translink.ca
Pay Parking at Granville Island is $1.00 an hour until 11:00
I think an hour to an hour and 15 minutes is plenty of time, so let’s meet back at the Blue Parrot for a coffee around 9:45… it will be busy, no guarantees of getting seating, but we can try. And of course if you want to stay and photograph longer, feel free to do so.
Following the meetup please share up to 8 of your favourite shots and please mention what your theme was.
I hope to see you there
Tracy
