Details
As I write this, it looks like it might be decent weather on Tuesday so let's do a photo-walk! It's been exactly 7 years since we last did this route and there has been a lot change!
I am suggesting shooting in Black & White .....if you’d rather shoot and post in colour thats fine too.
100 years ago, West Hastings and West Cordova were the pulse of the city. They were the heart of the city's business district and where families, went to shop and be entertained.....it is now where some of the cities best and most interesting architecture, both old and new.
What should I bring?
A camera, It doesn't matter if you have a camera phone, a point and shoot camera or a Digital SLR, any camera is fine. A tripod (optional)
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, be sure you are comfortable and warm.
What can I shoot?
On West Hastings Street you will find some of the most historic and iconic buildings in the city, including the Marine Building, the Dominion Building, Sinclair Centre, the Terminal City Club, the Vancouver Club, Harbour Centre. the Sun Tower and the Flack Building. We will pass some very modern architecture, some buildings in need of repair, some preservation and some beautiful restorations of the downtown core's original properties. You can also photograph murals, store windows, some great street scenes, alley ways, graffiti, reflections, people etc.
Where will we be going?
From our meeting point, we will be heading east on West Hastings towards the cenotaph at Victory Square (where the city's Remembrance Day Ceremony will have taken place earlier) into Gastown to Waterfront Station where
