What we’re about
Meet Vegans near Teaneck, northern Bergen county. Discuss veganism or the weather. Share your favorite (or least) 'V'ecipes and make, (or offend) new friends. We'll meet at Veggie Heaven in Teaneck, hopefully once a week. after meals there will be board / card games nearby. potlucks, group cooking opportunities, movies, and group video rentals are options. None obligatory. The group welcomes vegans, vegetarians, and raw foodists.
Carnivores / Veggie Curious are welcome, but heckling the herd with yarns of animal targetry will result in C/V/C finding themselves face to face with a table of foaming vegans, many of whom may be animal rights activists, and it is these such circumstances that underscore the ACT in activist.
In the unlikely event that such should transpire, I myself, being a pacifist, will hide under the table.
Seriously, the worst that could happen is someone deviously, inadvertently puts the sizzling tofu platter too close and the heckler gets their eyebrows singed off.
As evident by the intro, the only other prerequisite aside from dietary adherence, is a sense of humor. Those lacking will not be humored.
Here's looking forward to a good humored meal.

See all- Dinner at Threefold CafeNeeds location
Hi Everyone,
(Please see the post below written by Carol.)
This place is awesome. Our next meeting is on Friday, Aug. 8th, at 7:00 at the Threehold Cafe. It is located on 285 Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge NY / 845-352-3130. It’s about 25 minutes from Teaneck. Some of us are getting there at 6:00 to tour the farm and the beautiful grounds. The restaurant is in the Main House with ample parking behind Holder House. Turn off Hungry Hollow Road at the sign for Orchard Lane/Holder House. There are wonderful vegan options on the menu and vegetarian options can be "veganized".
See menu link below:There will be soft live music and dining will be outdoors - weather is expected to be beautiful, but a bit cool in the evening. We ask that you please RSVP at your earliest convenience to assure you will be accommodated, but please no later than Friday at 1:00, so that we may confirm the final amount of attendees. The last order is at 8:30, unless they run out of food sooner, but we can still hang out afterwards to chat or take a walk.
I intend to get there at 6:00 and welcome anyone who would like to join me. There are some very nice places to walk, including a little trail that leads to a field called Mary Daley Field. Then from there, there is a longer path that leads up to the Threefold Community Farm- the local biodynamic dairy farm. Very beautiful place.
The story of the farm and the restaurant:
In the 1920s, a small band of young anthroposophists who ran a vegetarian restaurant near Carnegie Hall bought a farm in Spring Valley, NY, where they could grow biodynamic vegetables and host summer retreats. What they started lives on in Threefold Café, which serves tasty, nutritious, made-from-scratch meals, drinks, and baked goods to locals and visitors to the Threefold community. They are committed to fresh and local ingredients that begins with produce and dairy from the biodynamic farm next door. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diners can always find a delicious range of options here.
We are requesting- not requiring- a $1 contribution until meet up costs are met.
