HIKE DESCRIPTION
This is a route to the Calico Tank that I created. It goes through another less-traveled area that provides new challenges and obstacles. Because it's a ridge, it has double the view also. And we'll still have the view from Calico Tank.
The climb up will be a little steeper and have a little more elevation gain. It'll get your heart pumping for sure. We'll stop periodically along the way to rest and get a view. There are a lot of new rock formations to see and lots of different colors and patterns in the rocks. I haven't seen much wildlife on this trail, except lizards and a hawk, but we'll keep our eyes and ears open and hope for some lucky sightings. For the return, we'll be taking a special route that has some new and difficult obstacles. If time permits, we'll go through the "sliding slot."
Not for beginners or those afraid of heights. There are many places that require advanced intermediate scrambling skills and there is some exposure. You must be able to pull your body weight up and lower yourself down using your arms.
• Helmets are always welcome. Be sure to use one that doesn't block your sight.
• Always carry "in case of emergency" numbers with you.
• No guests will be allowed without my prior approval.
YOU MUST BE ON THE "GOING" LIST IN ORDER TO GO ON THIS HIKE. CRASHING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
Meet Location will be sent by text or message on the day prior to the hike.
