Join spiritual medium Sheila Smedley at Craidgarroch Castle as she brings clarity and understanding to the beautiful soul-to-soul practice that is mediumship in a Victorian setting.
Sheila is a certified practicing medium and spiritual teacher. She has studied with world-renowned medium, James van Praagh, and has read for clients around the world. She lives and practices in Victoria, B.C.
You’ll learn a bit about the history of mediumship and how it gained its initial popularity in North America in the 1800s. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions regarding near-death experience, the ‘afterlife’ and how connection to our loved ones who have passed can bring healing, hope and comfort.
The highlight of this event with be a spirit reading on the 4th floor dance hall that Sheila conducts for the group, demonstrating that our loved ones are still very much with us and anxious to connect.
It is documented that Robert Dunsmuir did in fact visit a spiritualist himself in 1889. However, this experience does not relate to the Dunsmuir family. It instead reflects the energy of the participants while the Castle acts a backdrop for a Victorian spiritualism experience.
Please note that to reach the Dance Hall on the 4th floor, participants will need to take the stairs approximately 70 steps to the top of the Castle. Please note there are no elevators or ramps inside of the Castle.
