🛠️ React Router as a Framework: Evolution and Comparison with NextJS
React Router has long been the go-to library for navigation in React apps, but with the introduction of Data APIs, loaders, actions, and streaming in v6.4+, it has grown into something much closer to a framework. In this talk, we’ll explore the evolution of React Router — from its origins as a client-side router, to its Remix-inspired transformation into a full-stack-ready framework. We’ll compare its approach to NextJS, highlighting their different philosophies, technical trade-offs, and use cases. Finally, we’ll look ahead at what the future holds for React Router in a React ecosystem increasingly shaped by server components, streaming, and full-stack frameworks.
