Spider Safari (Raleigh Parks event, $5 fee)
Date/time: Saturday, October 18, 2025, 2-4 PM
Location**: Durant Nature Preserve **SOUTH entrance (**3237 Spottswood Street)**
Description: Join naturalist Brian Bockhahn with the NC Biodiversity Project to search for spiders in Durant Nature Park. After a quick introduction on spiders, we'll use several different hands on monitoring methods to collect and identify as many species as possible. Nets and all materials provided. Dress to be outside and off trail. Bring drinking water, hat, closed toed shoes any sun protection needed. Open to anyone ages 7 and up, parents must accompany children. Pre-registration is required for adults and children for planning purposes. Cost $5

Note: the information sent to Wake Audubon specifies the South Entrance, 3237 Spottswood -- but, the signup link might say it is the North entrance on Camp Durant Road. So make sure you read the email that they will send to you a day or two before the event.
