Join us for a soul-nourishing hike through Churchill National Park and Lysterfield Park, where nature, history, and community come together in one graceful loop.
We begin beneath the towering eucalypts of Churchill National Park, greeted by birdsong and the scent of gum leaves. As we ascend toward Trig Point Lookout, the trail narrows and climbs, revealing breathtaking views of the Dandenong Ranges, Melbourne’s skyline, and Port Phillip Bay. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and take in the vastness around us.
From there, we follow Quarry Track, skirting the dramatic edge of the Boral Quarry, where nature and industry meet in quiet contrast. The path leads us to the Donelan Homestead site, where scattered orchard trees and stone remnants whisper stories of early settlers.
Our journey continues to the Children’s Farm site, a peaceful field rich in history. Once a training ground for young boys, it now rests quietly near Crystal Brook Picnic Area, surrounded by aging trees and grassy clearings.
Throughout the walk, expect encounters with rosellas, echidnas, and perhaps a curious kangaroo. The bushland is alive, and we walk in rhythm with it.
