What we’re about
Hey there, fellow wanderer,
If you've been through life's rough patches – maybe felt the sting of loneliness, navigated a tough transition, or just realized you're ready to commit to finding a truly consistent, genuine community – then you've found your home. This group is all about finding your chosen family, or as I like to call them, your shovel friends. The kind of friend where you could show up at their door in the middle of the night with a dead body, and with no hesitation they'd look at you and say, "I'll get the shovels." I haven’t always been sure that level of trust still existed. But I’ve learned that it does.
For me, finding my own shovel friends changed everything. It taught me that genuine connection still exists out there for those who really want it. And what better way to find that connection, that joy, and that deep healing than through the universal language of music and shared creativity? This is what our community is dedicated to.
Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, dusting off an old one, or just love being around people who find joy in rhythm and melody, you belong here. We believe in growth through friendship, growth through learning new musical skills, and most importantly, growth through shared joy.
Here's a peek at some of the events we'll be hosting:
- Free Beginner Group Guitar Lessons: Take your first steps on the instrument in a supportive, no-pressure environment. We'll help you find your rhythm and strum your way to new beginnings.
- Creative Writing Circle: Get together to write, share, and get feedback on your works in progress. It's a fantastic spot to nurture your inner storyteller and connect with fellow wordsmiths.
- Workshops & Masterclasses: Dive into topics like vocal technique (our next one features a doctorate-level opera singer!), songwriting, and more. These are unique opportunities to level up your skills in a supportive environment.
- Social Get-Togethers: Just casual hangouts with other creatives who get it. Think laid-back conversations, shared laughs, and connecting with people who speak your language.
This is just the beginning of your journey with us. For those who consistently engage and become a true part of our chosen family, we also host unique, invite-only events each month – special chances to truly build those deeper bonds and shared adventures.
So grab your instrument, your voice, or just your good vibes, and let's make some noise, share some stories, and truly be shovel friends.
