SwaneyFest- Death Valley Social

It is NOT a specific WMC event. There is not a specific WMC organizer and there will be no WMC waiver to sign. Go at your own risk and plan accordingly.

I will not be attending and I have nothing to do with the organization happening on FB. I'm happy to answer questions about canyoneering and camping there. DV is a very unique place with it's own beauty and challenges. If you are lucky, you will witness the "bloom" when the flowers are blooming by the thousands. A few things to note:

• Slabby Acres is an abandoned RV park. There are literally slabs of concrete spread out in a grid. The area is very large.
• Take a portable toilet! There are no facilities there. A shower tent for concealment is also recommended. DV is kind of a barren wasteland.
• The weather at that time is amazing. I've been in shorts and t-shirt at 10pm one of the years I went.
• You must have your group organized before attending. The info in the link states none of the canyoneering is organized with this event. Your group must have all beta, gear, etc.
• I usually travel on Wednesday and Monday.
• If you have questions about canyons, I can help. Please research the beta before contacting me though and ask specific questions.
