Wearable, Wilderness & Willow Bark Workshop

Details
Fall is right around the corner ... goodbye summer, hello fall ... There's
a certain calm that only fall can bring. It teaches us how to slow down and fall in love with stillness. Let's sit, get together and weave something wild to wear.
Join us at Carnation Farms for an intimate afternoon of creativity and connection with Field and Forest Crafts. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the beauty and resilience of willow, an ancient plant with deep roots in both craft and culture.
Willow bark can only be harvested for a few months in the spring and early summer but if dried and stored properly can last for years. For weaving, willow bark can be used to make baskets, hats, jewelry, art, and more.
Instructor:
Erin Cox will guide you through crafting a custom-fit bracelet and pair of earrings using spring-harvested willow bark, while sharing insights into the plant’s many gifts, from natural medicine to soil stabilization and wildlife habitat. You’ll choose your own beads and design details, creating wearable art that reflects your personal style and a deeper relationship with the natural world.
In this workshop, you will make a custom pair of earrings and a bracelet-to-fit. You will choose your earring beads (color/number/orientation), woven earring length/size, and findings. Enjoy an afternoon playing with willow!
Class Fee: $60
It includes supplies for ONE bracelet and ONE pair of earrings. Additional supplies are $15 each – limited quantity.
