Grand Canyon’s Dazzling Cedar Ridge (6,050’) Hike- 3.25M 1,200’G, 2.5?Hrs
Details
Prepare to be blown away by the spectacular beauty of this magnificent place and to get a glimpse of what the Grand canyon looks like (and feels like..) 1,200’ deep bellow the rim.
Narrowly winding down the cliff, the S Kaibab trail is immediately hypnotizing and provide a magical views of the Grand Canyon while descending bellow the rim.
The safest way to lose hundreds of feet of elevation is by way of switchbacks, and this hike has some of the most exhilarating switchbacks in the country. They are steep in some places and I recommend bringing trekking poles along to take some of the impact off your knees.
Hiking out of the canyon is a bit challenging ..significantly harder than hiking in. (we will climbed back up 1,200 in 1.5M!)
But it doesn't mean that we shouldn't enjoy it. We'll rest as needed, we'll drink water like a fish, and we immerse ourselves in the fabulous scenery.
Difficulty level - challenging but not too bad.
Pace - Very(!) slow with many many stops.
Liquids - There isn't water sources on the entire S Kabab trail. I’d carry at least 2 Lit.
Restrooms - yes, at Cedar Ridge Pt.
