Byron Bay. Day 1. We Explore Byron. We Hike Cape Byron!!!

BYRON FAHHHHHKIN’ BAY!!! Beach Paradise. Food & Drinks Paradise. Perving Paradise. Hiking Paradise. Let’s do it as a team. 24 Hikers MAX. We’ve got a 3day plan here. Extend your stay and arrive early or stay later… up to you. But 3 days of hikes, drinks, and group fun should hit the sweet spot. Let’s gooooooooooooo.

Day 1. Friday. We Coast.
We start. 1pm, as some of you might fly in this morning. The world-famous Lighthouse Hike. Hike to the Most Easterly Point in Australia. Perfect views. Watego’s Beach, named one of the best in the world… Local dolphins to be seen daily. This hike is 10/10 beeeeeeautiful – that’s why we’re doing it twice on this trip. We'll make it a relaxing 6kms.
Afternoon. Explore Byron. Check out this cool town… shopping (get a snack for Saturday’s hike). Stroll the streets or go solo for an ocean swim. Most Happy Hours start at 4pm. We’ve gotta do Beach Hotel for a few as a team! We’ll be quite charged up, so let’s get on the piss and play it by ear. Of course, we’ll have to find some food.

COST.
a) $175 pre-paid to MJ for Hinterland Day 2 bus / organising. No refunds. Sorry. Your next 5 Sydney hikes are free if you must cancel – that’s the deal we both agree to.
b) Flights as of 18 Feb on Jetstar are $57 / $69 each leg (unsure from Melbourne, but they will be cheap). Cheap as fucking chips. We start hiking at 1pm on Friday. Arrive earlier if you fancy! Stay later if you want! Drive if you want.
c) Ingenia Holiday Parks looks pretty damn nice! Fri, 3 nites is (approx.) $500 for your own studio with kitchen / bathroom. That’s for all 3 nites! Two bedroom places with shared bathroom is (approx.) $700 (that’s $350 per person). So cheap. I can prob get better rates with group rates. Let’s try and get 12 of us to stay there? I’ll collect $ and pay.

ENERGY.
Bring it. The itinerary for Days 1-3 doesn’t sound it – but it’s A LOT. This will be an active, fucking fun, full-on 3 days. You might need a holiday from the holiday… or just stay on an extra day of relaxation. I’m gonna do just that and do the Lighthouse Hike again with a beach lunch on Monday.

HOTELS.
Feel free to book your own. From hostels to mid to luxury – Byron has it all. Message me if you have a question – I know the town well / many properties. Ingenia Holiday Park is super affordable and meets our “Clean, comfy, close to town” requirement.
