If you're looking for views, this is your hike! Tucked away in the impressive hills of south SD county, Hollenbeck Canyon offers gorgeous vistas of the Jamul Mountains and Otay Mountain. This hidden gem has low crowds, is moderate rolling hills, and serves as a wildlife corridor — look for coyotes, deer, and birds!
About The Hike
This 6 mile loop follows Honey Springs through the canyons between rolling hills, with one moderate incline. This route is rated Moderate on AllTrails; view the route here.

We'll meet in the parking lot of Honey Springs Ranch Trailhead.
What You'll Need
- Always bring water, even if you don't think you need it.
- Bug repellent or layers, just in case.
- Wear comfortable hiking or running shoes for dirt and gravel paths.
