Decentralised Oracles and Data Management: Filecoin x Chainlink

Details
Join us at RMIT's city campus for a deep dive into decentralized oracle and data storage.
We're hosting experts from Chainlink and Filecoin, leaders in blockchain-based solutions, for a focused discussion on the software infrastructure stack for decentralised ‘Compute over Data’. Gain insights from their hands-on experience in decentralised oracle networks and distributed storage, as well as some of the governance considerations of these developments. This will be a compact yet impactful exploration of the future of the web, followed by networking. Refreshments and catering will be provided (kindly sponsored by Filecoin Foundation and Chainlink).
- Filecoin is a peer-to-peer network building the internet of everyone. Using open source software and open protocols for decentralised data storage and retrieval Filecoin is storing humanity's most important information.
- Chainlink is the industry-standard Web3 service platform connecting the people, businesses, and data of today with the Web3 world of tomorrow.
These are 'non-custodial' protocols providing trust-minimised compute infrastructures. Users maintain control over their private keys, data and assets. Filecoin and Chainlink function as public goods, while Filecoin Foundation and Chainlink Labs operate as ecosystem stewards.
Chainlink Labs will share a couple of new game changing innovations that empower Web3 developers to build advanced decentralized applications.
- Chainlink Cross Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP): Learn about what a cross-chain smart contract is, and how CCIP enables a secure, reliable and more connected Web3 world.
- Chainlink Functions: Serverless platform that allows developers to fetch any data from any API and run custom compute on Chainlink's highly secure and reliable network.
Filecoin will introduce you to their mission to create the base infrastructure needed for a truly open web that democratises data and enables internet-scale applications.
This includes:
- IPFS for content addressing and interplanetary networking
- Filecoin - the largest decentralised compute network globally
- FVM - The programmable layer of Filecoin (smart contracts for storage!)
- Bacalhau & Lilypad - Making data useful with compute! Enabling arbitrary AI, ML & Desci functionality.
