What we’re about
This group is for fit people who want to go for a moderately fast pace walk in a group of around 20-25 people.
Walks will normally be between 10-12 km and last around 3 hours (including stops). Frequently we'll start from somewhere that's easy to get to by car or public transport eg Tamaki drive waterfront, Devonport and surrounds, Takapuna to Milford and back. We normally stop for a BYO snack and drink midway and occasionally bring a picnic lunch. The walk or activity will normally be posted a week to three days before the event.
Communication and comments:
We are aiming to have minimal posts on the discussion feed so that people read any important leader posts re events. Please keep comments to those of the event. Do not post any personal details or referrals to personal details such as phone numbers, facebook links or email addresses.
If you need to change your RSVP just change via the RSVP system or message the group organiser directly. After a walk that you've attended, you’re welcome to post a few general comments, but please keep these brief.
Photos: Feel free to post photos on the event page: To protect people's privacy only post photos where people's faces are hard to identify. Thanks :)
When messaging the group or it's members abide by Meetup messaging policy - report any messages that don't comply with the policy to Meetup.
Meetup groups like this one are run by volunteers who would like to relax and enjoy the event as much as other participants. As such we expect everyone to take responsibility for themselves as we are not liable for any personal loss or injury at any event. By RSVP ing "Yes" you accept that you have read all the details of the trip and that you participate at your own risk. Therefore for your own safety and enjoyment and that of others please do not sign up for an event unless you know that your abilities are well within the level of fitness and agility required for it.
If you want to bring a friend to an event they need to sign up to this group so that they have the same understanding as above. Also there are limited spaces for our trips and so many members, so we have a policy that only members can come.

The person on the bottom of the waiting list is the first to be moved by the system. If you're on the waiting list please be patient and wait to be moved to the “yes” list by the meetup site if someone drops out.
