Social ride: Eastbourne to Ngauranga
Details
This is a social ride checking out the two newest Wellington Harbour shared cycle paths: Eastbourne to
Point Howard (Tupua Horo Nuku shared path) and Petone to Ngauranga (Ngā Ūranga ki Pito-One).
Two groups will ride from different directions and meet somewhere along the trail. I will lead the group from Eastbourne; Mark will lead the group from the Ngauranga end.
About the shared paths:
Tupua Horo Nuku
Tupua Horo Nuku is a 4.4-kilometre seawall and shared path along Marine Drive between Ngau Matau/Point Howard and Eastbourne.
Ngā Ūranga ki Pito-One
The Ngā Ūranga ki Pito-One section of Te Ara Tupua is built on the harbour’s edge from Ngauranga Interchange to Honiana Te Puni Reserve in Petone and connects with the new Pito-One to Melling section.
There are several landscaped areas known as Ūranga or landings that we can check out on the way.
Will be approx 30kms return and maybe time for lunch/coffee at the end.
