Day walk into the Orongorongos

Hey guys I am going to host a group walk on Saturday at 10am (rain,hail or shine) starting at catchpool valley (remutaka forest park) in wainuiomata and walking the orongorongo track to the orongorongo River to have a look around and have lunch then heading back to the carpark via orongorongo track.

I will be at the very end carpark at catchpool valley and will be waiting by the track entrance from 10am allowing everybody to gather and get themselves ready. We'll then will be departing at 10.30am, the walk to river is roughly 2hrs, then will be at river for 30min-1hr then heading back. So most likely will be about a 5 hour round trip.

I'm very keen to start hosting walking groups weekly so if this one goes well and has a good turnout I will put in the effort to get some good walking events going and a bunch of good people together enjoying nature, something we can all look forward to each week

This walk is all on fairly well graded tracks and it's about 90 minutes each way. Bring sturdy walking shoes, enough layers/jacket for all weathers, water and lunch/snacks.

There is no public transport, so you will need to organise your own ride or carpool in the comments - please state if you have a car and can bring some people along. As it is about a 45 minute drive each way, please give your driver a koha of at least $5 for petrol each way.
