Overview
I’m planning to run a series of stop-to-stop walks along the Settle–Carlisle Railway, taking in some of the best scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. The idea is to start each stage further up the line, so anyone driving can park at the finish and then hop on the Leeds train to the start.

For this second stage, we’ll set off from Ribblehead, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with views across to the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct. Our route climbs gently towards Ingleborough via Park Fell, following the northern ridge to the summit. After taking in the views, we’ll descend the southern side over Little Ingleborough and past the dramatic Gaping Gill, before looping back to follow the final stretch of the Three Peaks route back into Horton in Ribblesdale.

(If there's time there's also potential to head down to Ingleborough Cave)
