#2 Saturdays in the Santa Monica Mountains 2025 #12 - Griffith Park Peaklets

Due to unreasonable participant enthusiasm for the December 6th 2025 Griffith Park Peaklets outing, we are offering a second alternative date for the hike with the probability of fewer fellow participants leading to a faster pace, less crowded summit photos, and at least one additional peaklet more than the previous week.

So join us on the alternative second version of our twelfth and really last hike in the Wilderness Adventures Section 2025 Saturday in the Santa Monica Mountains series, our annual trek of Griffith Park, the finest city park in the country.This is a strenuous hike of 11 miles at a moderate pace with 3000 feet gain on scrambles to multiple peaklets. Plan to spend most of the day hiking at a moderate pace.

We will hike from Burbank Peak to Beacon Hill passing by Bee Rock, the Hollywood Sign, Dantes View, and the Old Zoo. Peaklets, rocks, and hills include Bee Rock (1056), Taco Peak (1572'), Mt. Bell (1587), Baby Bell (1570), Mt. Chapel (1622), Mt. Lee (1640), Cahuenga Peak (1820), Burbank Peak (1190), Mt. Hollywood (1626), Glendale Peak (1190), and numerous other peaklets we will arbitrarily conquer and name as we trek the park.

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a good attitude. Rain, excessive heat, or Red Flag alert cancels.
