Walk along and over the Willamette River to visit the 9 acre Owen Rose Garden. Then to the historic Shelton-McMurphy House and up a long series of steps and a roadway to reach the summit of Skinner Butte: enjoy an expansive view of Eugene, parts of Springfield, and the Cascade and Coast Range foothills. Walk on a wide paved path along the river to River Play, an innovative children's playground, and to a replica of Skinner's cabin, the first structure in the area. Return along the river (Willamette River Greenway) and over it to reach Valley River Inn. The 5K route skips Skinner Butte
