Ellis Brook 60’ Falls, Barrington Quarry - loop 13Kms and 448 meters elevation.

Come enjoy a vigorous hike in the rain =>

This is a sturdy variation on the popular 60 foot falls walk. We will start at the lower carpark of Ellis Brook Valley Reserve, then follow a nice clockwise hike winding around and past the old Barrington quarry before climbing further and around to enter out at the top of the 60 foot falls. We then gently descend down and return back to our car park. Hopefully with the recent local rains there should be water cascading over the falls and we can get some spectacular views and photos down the valley and at the waterfall.
We are sure to all want a warm coffee and meal after the walk at the 'Hidden cafe' In Gosnells nearby which has served us well previously.

Distance
13km. Elevation gain 448m and almost 3 hours of walking time, 4hrs if you come for a coffee after.
Difficulty
It will be steady uphill hiking initially followed by a little up and down, a brief interlude at the Barrington quarry then our final ascent up to the top of the falls before our downhill home run. Rocky dirt tracks up along the side of the valley, medium difficulty with a couple of steep sections. This walk will test your fitness due to the longer distance, the trail does have quite a lot of elevation so I'd suggest this is for Fit hikers - probably not a route for first timers.....
What to bring
Water, good hiking shoes, hat & sunscreen. An umbrella isn't a bad idea and I would also recommend walking poles if you have them.

Coffee after the walk
There are BBQs provided near the car parking area along with seats, tables and shelters, however it's likely a cold wet day so we are going to the 'Hidden speciality coffee' cafe in Gosnells.
