Cape to Cape '26 - Meet and Greet walk #3 (26km)
Details
This is the 3rd of 3 Meet & Greet hikes for C2C '26
This MeetUp event is open to all people who are attending the Cape to Cape event during the last week of October but if you just want to test your “mettle” you’re most welcome to join us. 😀
Very soon we will be walking the cape! This is a great opportunity to test you and your gear. How is your stamina for this distance? Are those shoes comfortable enough? This hike will test them. Will your water bladder leak? Meet up with those other wonderful Cape to Cape walkers.
This track starts at the Parkerville Tavern and follows the Railway Heritage Trail into John Forrest National Park. Near the Hovea Station we head up THE hill and join up with the Eagle View Trail which will eventually take us to the Eagle View Lookout and then down to the Swan View Station. A walk through the tunnel to the National Falls, JF Tavern (ruins & toilet), Hovea Falls and back to the Parkerville for lunch.
Difficulty
This is the hardest of our 3 M&G walks and probably harder than the hardest day on the C2C. It is 26km into the heart of JFNP and has some decent elevation gains (604m). By the time we have reached the lookout the hardest walking is then behind us. A good walking pace of 5 to 5.5 km/h for just over 5.5 hours. If you’re not a regular walker this is not the walk for you.
