This is a hike best suited to our regular group of experienced hikers.
Elevation gain: 350m and a decent walking pace.
This is a beautiful hike. We start from Sullivan Rock, hike to Mt Vincent, then Mt Cuthbert to Monadnocks Hut (part of the Bibbulmun Track). The way back is along a firebreak.
Huge granite outcrops and sweeping valley views make this hike through Monadnocks Conservation Park a standout choice. Starting from Sullivans Rock, the path follows the Wagy (marker of the Bibbulmun Track). The trail will lead us over the summits of Mount Vincent and Mount Cuthbert, offering a mix of shady forest pockets and exposed granite slopes. The climbs can be steep and the ground uneven, so sturdy boots are a must. While the ascents might get the heart rate up, the path is generally well-defined. Be mindful that the rock surfaces can become slippery after rainfall. The track leads to the Monadnocks Campsite, a perfect spot for a break.
Meeting Point/Time/Carpooling
Ye Olde Narrogin Inne, Armadale by 8am, from where we can carpool. Leaving for Sullivan Carpark (25km away) by 8.15am at the very latest. So, don't be late..
