What we’re about
We meet Near 2-6 Fauna St, Earlwood NSW 2206. https://maps.app.goo.gl/hniGmQ4ncfxVRNsK6
This group goal is for those that a looking to get away from the feeling of living in a city, want to be regularly active, enjoy the fresh air from plant life, want some human company during their walk, want some accountability to help motivate us to move instead of endlessly being stuck at home.
This is mostly a VERY EARLY (sunrise) morning walk to allow most to get to work after but we can organize other times if the group want weekends or other days.
Starting time shifts with the seasons and events can be cancelled due to weather.
Most of the time we walk from Girraween Park to near Tempe train station, but not strictly as the distance depends on how quick move (which isn't too fast as this is a chill walk not a bush run, although your welcome to run ahead if you have the fitness). we end up back a Girraween Park ready to tackle the rest of the day.
Friendly Dogs are welcome but strictly on a leash.
I carry a first aid kit in my backpack which I'm happy to share if needed but if you bring your own it's better.
Bring your own Water ( Girraween Park has a water bubbler if need be)
We are respectful, multicultural and inclusive of all people no matter the background. This isn't a dating focused group, friendly and kind is what we aim for with as little drama as possible.
I'll be honest this is something I wanted to do anyway, so I'll be walking and those who want to join are welcome, aiming for 3 days a week (probably too unrealistic) let see.
Small Donations via PayID are welcome to help cover the Meetup.com monthly charge of $75 which isn't as affordable as I thought it would be to create a group. Not looking to make money off this just cover the costs :)
A little about me for those wondering, I'm a friendly 42 year old happily married man, father of 3 gorgeous kids, 2 boys and a girl 11, 9 and 6. I'm a IT professional, happy to chat and walk and also have silent walks to take in how lucky we are to have this patch of nature in the city.
