Speaker Training for the Intimidated - Vanessa Love

Gender diversity is lacking in speaking spaces, we know we have the numbers. But speaking doesn't have to be terrifying.

Vanessa has spoken at DDDBrisbane, NDCSydney, and internationally at ScaleConfNZ. Not to mention a spattering of local Brisbane user groups.

In this session Vanessa will share her wisdom of submitting to conferences, signing up for user groups and provide an insight to the method to her madness. We will talk about what makes a good presenter and presentation. You will learn some techniques to help ease the nerves.

Vanessa will show that everyone has something interesting to say, why it's important and convince to get out there and speak up.

Speaker Bio:

In high school Vanessa Love did a run as the lead in her school production of Hating Alison Ashley. This makes her transition from drama nerd to tech conference speaker really questionable. Currently she works at the ABS selling DevOps so nothing really makes sense except her exceptional ability to entertain nerds speaking at events about gardening.
