This talk will talk discuss why and how to start using Golang for all your operational scripting needs.
We will discuss common operational talks that operations engineers may need to do and how Golang can help us do the same - in a more maintainable and platform neutral. You write your tools, the same was as software developers develop the products. We will specifically discuss:

• Filesystem operations
• Network requests and parsing data
• Cloud APIs
• Fuzzy searching and interactive interfaces
• CLI frameworks

Title: Distributed metrics at scale

Summary:
This talk is about the different observability challenges that software teams face when they deal with distributed systems. More specifically it will cover metrics when monitoring microservice systems at scale. In this day and age metrics are everywhere, regardless of whether they get captured or not. This allows software engineers to monitor the systems that they develop, however, it also creates some unique challenges in terms of maintainability, scalability, reliability and cost. Pavel will talk about dealing with these challenges (when Prometheus doesn’t work anymore).
