Fall fun Upstate: Grace Farms & Katonah Museum Day Trip

Details

Art-full members are invited to spend a fall Saturday immersed in art, architecture, and nature on a specially curated day trip.

Advance Purchase Required here

We’ll begin with a guided tour of Grace Farms in New Canaan, a unique cultural and humanitarian center designed by the acclaimed Japanese architecture firm SANAA. Nestled within 80 acres of meadows, woodlands, and ponds, Grace Farms is known for its iconic River building, a glass-enclosed structure that seamlessly flows through the landscape. The guided tour will highlight the site’s architecture, art installations, and mission-driven programming around nature, community, and peace.

After the tour, we’ll enjoy a brunch at the picturesque Bedford Post Inn, a Relais & Châteaux member recognized for its exceptional quality and unique character, about a 15 minute drive from Grace Farms.

Finally, we’ll take another short drive to the Katonah Museum of Art, a small museum which packs a big punch, offering fresh perspectives on contemporary art and culture within an intimate, thoughtfully designed space. Our private guided tour will take us through their two current exhibitions, both of which close the following day -

  • Leonora Carrington: Dream Weaver - Spanning fifty years of Carrington’s career, this exhibition celebrates her creative and technical versatility with more than thirty rarely seen artworks, generously loaned from private collections.
  • Sublime Geometries - Drawn from the collection of The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation, this exhibition presents a multi-generational group of women artists who are reinventing geometric abstraction in contemporary art.
