As always we will cover the latest WordPress news, plus have an open Q&A session for anyone with questions about WordPress. This month we have two talks:

Talk 1: Enterprise WordPress: Under the hood of a $50K WordPress site
From blank theme to enterprise build – hold onto your blocks!

What goes into building a high-value, enterprise-grade WordPress site? In this talk, we’ll peel back the layers of a $50K WordPress project—from initial requirements and customer flow, to design systems and implementation. You’ll see how bare themes are adapted, blocks are customized and disabled, and complex page structures are built for flexibility and performance. We’ll also touch on design handoff from Figma, deployment workflows with Git, and the kinds of decisions that turn a standard install into a professional-grade platform.

Talk 2: Cookies & Consent: Can WordPress do privacy?
A practical guide to consent, compliance, and testing your site

Website owners now need to navigate a growing maze of privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CIPA and the ePrivacy Directive. They aren’t just about cookies, they demand real consent, accessible interfaces, and the blocking of third-party scripts until users agree. This talk explains what those requirements mean in practice for WordPress site owners, covering how to identify and manage tracking scripts, where compliance efforts often fall short, and practical strategies for building sites that respect user privacy, meet accessibility standards, and reduce legal risk.
