**** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ****
*******************************************

Good News! We're starting up our meetups again this month.
⚠️ For everyone's safety, please take note of the following: ⚠️

✔️ We will have a QR Code and EVERYBODY will be required to check-in once they arrive. You should be able to scan this with your phone camera. (This is a Victorian Gov requirement for contact tracing purposes)

✔️ If you can't scan the code, there is a six-character location code on our QR Code poster. You can enter this via the Service Victoria app (available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store - links below).

✔️ Everyone MUST wear a mask!

✔️ Please ensure to adhere to social-distancing guidelines by keeping your distance from others – stay 1.5 metres away from people where you can

✔️ To avoid people socialising around the kitchen, we wont be supplying our regular pizzas. Apologies for this, but we believe it's in everyones best interest in not gathering around the kitchen chatting and socialising.

The meetup is limited to only 40 people. If you RSVP and can no longer attend, PLEASE ensure you change your RSVP so other people can use it.

The WordPress Melbourne meet up returns for another month. Our WordPress meetup covers everything from choosing Themes & Plugins and setting up your site, through to theme and plugin development and everything related to Core.

We currently run one meetup per month. We try to alternate between end-user/beginner talks one month and development/technical talks the following month. As it all depends on availability of presenters though, please make sure you keep an eye out on the topics for the particular month once we update the meetup page with all the details.

We're always looking for new speakers, so contact the organisers in the meetup.com sidebar if you have an idea for a talk. We usually start the night with a light meal before the talks.

You can find links to past presentation slides (when available), over on our WP Melbourne website - http://wpmelb.org

RSVP's for this meetup will open 7 days before the meetup starts

Location:

The WP Melbourne meetup is held at:

Launchpad 3 (Tram Stop Stage)
132 Cremorne St
Richmond

Launchpad 3 is a short 7 minute walk from Richmond Station. You can view the route on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/81ZRMi36jPD2

The recent WordPress 5.6 release was managed by an all-women and non-binary identifying release squad. As one of the Release Coordinator's for this recent release, Dee Teal is going to be talking about what it's like to be involved in releasing a major version of WordPress.

Dee has been using WordPress as a blogger since 2008, as a web developer since 2009 and has transitioned to being a Project Manager for large scale WordPress projects as a ‘Human’ with Human Made where she also leads their team of PMs.

Dee is a huge fan of the WordPress community, organises WordPress events in Australia, and speaks at them where she gets the opportunity, both at home and around the world.

Dee carries both NZ and Australian passports, drives an (adorable) English Classic Car, owns a Burmese cat with a huge personality, drinks black coffee and after nearly 20 years in Australia still can’t shake her mostly Kiwi accent.
