📐 Stop Fiddling With Font Sizes: Fluid Typography + Spacing

At our next WordPress Sunshine Coast Meetup, we’re going to look at fluid typography and spacing, and how you can spend a lot less time fiddling with font sizes.

For most of my web design life, I've spent a lot of time manually adjusting font sizes and spacing. Seeing up defaults, then tweaking them again when something looked off on a tablet or small laptop. Since moving to fluid typography and spacing, I set up once and barely think about it. You set a smallest and largest size once, and the browser scales everything in between.

In this session I'll show you how it works and how I use it on real builds, so you can stop thinking about font sizes too.

What we'll cover:

• What fluid typography and spacing is
• Introduction to the CSS clamp function
• How to set up via HTML & CSS alone
• How to set up in a WordPress FSE theme
• Setting up within a CSS framework & CSS variables

We’ll work through it together and look at how and where it can fit into your WordPress workflow.

As always, we’ll have plenty of time for discussion, questions and help with anything WordPress related at the end.

See you there!
