We're back!
After a really, really long break, WorthingDigital is kicking off 2026 with a new series of talks, starting with “Where is the value in data science?”

Join us on January 21st, hosted once again by our friends at Fresh Egg, for an evening of practical insight, discussion and catching up with the local digital community.

About the talk:
The costs of having a data science function are obvious: staff wages and system running costs are highly visible and routinely reviewed by business leadership. The returns on this investment, are less clear and harder to evaluate. Not all the benefits of a data science function are directly measurable.
In this talk, i will discuss three types of benefits that a data science function could provide, and how they can be measured. this question is especially acute in the current era of agentic ai tools that can build software applications, including for data analysis and machine learning.

About the speaker: Oskar Holm, lead ai engineer at eficode
From a start in numerical astrophysics and cosmology, and a stint in radiation protection and health physics, Oskar moved to Brighton in 2014 to become a data scientist. since then he has worked in various roles both as a consultant and an in-house data scientist in the fintech and martech sectors before joining eficode in late 2025 to bring agentic ai into the software development lifecycle.
