Poetry - Zéjel
Details
For writers of poetry.
This month's form is Zéjel. Please bring 1 poem to share at the meeting.
The zéjel is a Spanish poetic form with likely Arabic origins. The first stanza is three lines long, with an AAA rhyming scheme. All other stanzas have four lines with XXXA rhyming scheme (e.g. BBBA, CCCA, etc.). Some alternatives start with a two-line stanza (AA) and continue with four-line stanzas in the XXXA rhyming scheme.
