Swedish Midsummer Picnic

Join us in celebrating Swedish midsummer in Weston Park this year. Whether you are Swedish, Scandinavian, curious about Nordic culture and have long dreamt of eating pickled herring while wearing a flower crown, or simply looking for a relaxed summer picnic with friendly people, you are very welcome to come along.

Swedish midsummer is traditionally celebrated outdoors with friends, food, drinks, music, and enjoying the long summer evening together. Feel free to bring your own picnic food, drinks, and something to sit on.

The event will be informal and relaxed. We’ll meet at a location in the park to be confirmed closer to the date.

Please note that there will be no live music or organised dancing around the midsommarstång (maypole). However, spontaneous singing, games, and dancing to “Små grodorna” may still happen if people are in the mood.
