A very nice, short walk linking two pleasant villages with various attractive & historic properties, surprises & features along the way, some lovely views and the low-lying ridge of Beacon Banks thrown in for good measure! Plus the option of Sunday lunch in a nice pub (see details below).

We start from the village hall car park in Coxwold (donation for parking & free toilets). The postcode is YO61 4BB and the car park is located along a road off the main street (at a crossroads below the church & pub and s.p. Byland, Wass, Ampleforth & Helmsley).

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please. Bring snacks/drink with you for a short morning break.

Lunch option: A table has been booked for 20 people at 1.15pm. If you would like to reserve a place, please post a message on this webpage. Please note this year's annual membership fee (£10) will need to be paid prior to this event. Therefore no guests permitted on this one.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
