(Pedal Powered) Youtube Battles

Details

By strange coincidence Ian Woolf just found this event running today/Friday that is similar to the one we ran last Sunday (https://www.meetup.com/Youtube-Battles/events/139870232/) except that this one is PEDAL POWERED! (pity about the short notice).

From one of their promo pages (http://therocksvillagebizarre.com/its-a-magnificent-revolution-the-ultimate-youtube-battle/)...

"On the evening of November 1, Atherden Street in The Rocks will be converted into an open air cinema … and not just your average open air cinema. Hosted by Magnificent Revolution, the big screen will be powered by pedals, so if the wheels cease spinning, so too does the film reel.

So how does it work? Eight regular road bicycles are hooked up to a real-time generator with no energy storage. The generator drives anything from the projector to the lighting and sound. Here, the power really is in the hands – and feet – of the participants, an apt analogy for the Magnificent Revolution ethos of using tangible experiences to fuel creative solutions for a sustainable future.

For this eve, the pedals will be spinning the celluloid magic of a YouTube battle where you choose the contestants. Come prepped with your favourite YouTube clip, which will then be loaded into the Cycle in Cinema. The audience gets to vote for their favourite and there are even prizes up for grabs, too."

Here is a compilation of our last Sunday's Battle...
