How can we rethink our current consumer lifestyle to both build value and reduce waste? And can we build an industry in recovering waste materials?

This is the promise of the circular economy, which is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems.

But beyond its obvious climate impact, the circular economy is also a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity. In Europe alone, a shift to a circular economy in the mobility, building, and food industries could offer annual benefits of EUR 1.8 trillion (USD 2.1 trillion) in 2030. (source: Ellen MacArthur Foundation).

According to the CSIRO, we extract and use 90 billion tonnes of primary material each year around the globe but we only recycle 9% of it. It’s an unsustainable trend, and one that a Circular Economy can both fix and turn into profit opportunities for investors.

In Australia, a Circular Economy can also ensure Australia’s future prosperity and economic security by expanding our reliance beyond mining raw and unprocessed natural resources.

Let’s investigate this commercial opportunity with Bloom's guest speakers Mike Ritchie (Director MRA Consulting), Graham Ross (Co-founder of Blocktexx) and Rose Read (CEO of NWRIC).

In this webinar, we will discuss:

  • Key opportunities for Australian investors
  • Tips to smartly invest in the Circular Economy
  • A deep dive into the recycling investment opportunity with the textile recycling company Blocktexx
  • And future industry predictions
