AppDev Made Easy - #OracleCode

Welcome All,

It's our first meetup within this new Oracle meetup group, which as a reminder is focused on all Oracle capabilities from Applications, Systems and Middleware to Core Technology like Database, Big Data and Data Visualisation, and much more.

For this meetup in Melbourne and we're kicking things off around Coding, Development and making it all really easy.

Application Development (AppDev) is not a new concept and over the years, development methods like RUP, XP, Peer Programming and Agile have rising to solve the problem - "How can we deliver projects and applications more effectively?" We have been learning from different communities especially ones that have no money, no time and no resources and are eager to validate, learn and scale ie. startups. At this meetup, we are going to explore what it takes to deliver solutions with a startup mentality. For this, we explore:

• Projects that are being delivered and projects that could be delivered but aren't.
• The way we look at delivering projects and how we adapt to change in a lean startup way.
• How the application architecture can affect the speed of innovation using APIs.
• How AppDev can benefit from DevOps and DevRel practices with a focus on DevExp.

We will discuss these project management and architectural concerns and reinforce the concepts by practical demonstrations. If you want to explore how to transform your developer organisation and deliver projects more effectively, then this meetup is for you.

Jason's Bio
Jason Lowe Oracle Cloud Platform Specialist, is passionate about how organisations adopt IT quickly and sustainably to achieve a specific and measurable outcome. He supports this through lean IT practices in operational support and project delivery, and adopting these practices with Oracle technologies by creating sustainable platforms. Jason is also interested different perspectives and drivers - from enterprise to start-ups, academia to commercial to public sector, cost-sensitive (risk) to value-driven (reward) - all of which influences decisions that organisations make.

Jason has a passion for community and is a connector - meeting new people trying to solve valuable and hard problems and connecting them with others that can validate and help realise their full potential. He supports different organisations like TADHack and Hacking Health as a global organiser and is a persistent blogger on medium.com and redthunder.blog and a podcaster on #DigitalImpactRadio sharing stories of the community that need to be told to the world.
