Join us for a hike in Belair National Park, followed by coffee at the Escapegoat Goat Shed cafe (optional). We will meet at the gate in the car park next to the Caravan park.
The walk will start on the Lorikeet Loop then join the Adventure Loop after we pass Old Govt House. We will continue on this loop until it meets the RSL track, then will head to the Karka Picnic Grounds. Here we will take a short diversion along the Melville Track and visit Ampitheatre Rock, then we will return to the picnic grounds, go past Long Gully Oval (good emu spotting), on to Valley Drive and the Railway Dam lookout and back to our cars. The trail features rivers and creek crossings (via bridges), passes various historical sights inside South Australia's first National Park, with some great views and kangaroo and koala spotting.
We’ll walk about 11 km and 290m elevation.
Parking in the Belair Caravan Park (old golf course) car park is free.
Exact map pin is shown.
Start from the Belair Caravan Park car park (at the gate to enter the park) and on to the Adventure trail.
