Big Day Out – New Forest Autumn Walk - Heaths, Woodlands & Ponies - 19km
Brockenhurst station , Station Approach, Brockenhurst SO42 7TW, Hampshire, GB- Join us for a big day out in the New Forest National Park, with an 18.8 km circular linking Brockenhurst and the forest landscapes around Lyndhurst. Expect ancient oak and beech woodland, sweeping heathland, and wide grassy lawns where New Forest ponies graze freely.
 - Start/Finish: Brockenhurst Station (timed for the London Waterloo train arriving ~09:37)
 - Distance: 18.8 km
 - Time: Approx. 6 hrs (including breaks)

The Hike:
We’ll set out from Brockenhurst on forest trails through peaceful enclosures, then open out onto big-sky heath. The route loops via streams, glades and classic open lawns, with a mid-route pause near the Lyndhurst side before returning to Brockenhurst. A full, rewarding day with plenty of time to soak up the scenery and enjoy good company.Highlights:

- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.

Historic Kent – Penshurst Place, Chiddingstone & Castle Hike - 16.6km
Penhurst Station, Station Hill, Penshurst, Chiddingstone Causeway, Tonbridge TN11 8JE, Penshurst, GBJoin us for a scenic countryside adventure through one of Kent’s most picturesque and historic areas. This 16.6 km circular walk links two of the county’s most beautiful landmarks – Penshurst Place and Chiddingstone Castle – and takes us through peaceful woodlands, riverside paths, and rolling farmland.

Grade: 2 (Moderate)

Time: 5.5hrs including breaks

We’ll begin near Penshurst Place, a grand 14th-century manor once used by King Henry VIII, before following tranquil trails with wide Wealden views and charming hamlets. Midway, we’ll pause in Chiddingstone Village, often described as the best-preserved Tudor village in Kent. With its timber-framed houses, 15th-century inn, and the mysterious Chiding Stone, it’s the perfect spot for a snack or coffee stop.The route also passes the romantic Chiddingstone Castle, surrounded by gardens and lakes. It’s a varied, rewarding route – mostly gentle with a few short hills that add a touch of challenge – ideal for women who enjoy beautiful countryside, history, and good company.

Autumn in the White Peaks & Dales - Peak District National Park - 4 Days
Parson Field Car Park, SK170BE, Hartington, GBJoin us for a 4-day Peak District escape exploring the softer, limestone landscapes of the White Peak, a land of peaceful riverside trails, dramatic valley walls, rolling green hills, and timeless stone villages.
This trip is all about variety, from the iconic beauty of Dovedale to the quiet charm of Wolfscote Dale, the sweeping moorland views above Eyam, and the gentle riverside paths of Youlgreave. November is a magical time to explore this area, with crisp autumn air, colourful foliage, and quieter trails.
We’ll be based at Ilam Hall YHA, perfectly placed for our walks, with comfortable rooms and social spaces to relax after a day outdoors. Evenings will be spent enjoying hearty food in local pubs.

Overall Grade: 3 / 5 – Moderate - Challenging with varied terrain Suitable for walkers with a reasonable fitness level. Includes some hill climbs and uneven ground.Day 1 – Hartington, Wolfscote & Biggin Dale
9.6 km | 214 m ascent | ~3 hrs | Grade 2/5
We’ll meet in the picturesque village of Hartington before setting off along the clear waters of the River Dove. The path winds through the steep-sided limestone gorge of Wolfscote Dale, with its dramatic rock faces and peaceful atmosphere, before continuing into the quieter, more open Biggin Dale. A gentle introduction to the White Peak, giving us time to chat, take in the views, and settle into the weekend.Day 2 – Eyam & Sir William Hill
15.2 km | 509 m ascent | ~5 hrs | Grade 3.5/5
Starting in the historic plague village of Eyam, this route combines fascinating history with big open landscapes. We’ll climb steadily to the moorlands around Sir William Hill, where sweeping views stretch across the Peak District, then follow ridge-top paths and gritstone edges. The return journey takes us through farmland and quiet lanes back to Eyam, where you can explore the village’s story.Day 3 – Dovedale & Milldale from Ilam
16.9 km | 470 m ascent | ~5.5 hrs | Grade 3/5
A classic Peak District walk right from our doorstep. We’ll cross rolling fields to the iconic Dovedale stepping stones, then follow the River Dove through towering limestone cliffs, woodland, and open meadows. The route leads us to the picture-perfect hamlet of Milldale before looping back via higher ground for panoramic valley views. This is the White Peak at its most photogenic — perfect for capturing those autumn colours.Day 4 – Youlgreave Circuit
10.5 km | 247 m ascent | ~3 hrs | Grade 2/5
Our final day’s walk is a gentle circuit through the beautiful Bradford Dale and surrounding countryside. The route follows a crystal-clear river past stone bridges and along grassy banks before climbing gradually to open fields edged by drystone walls. It’s a peaceful, relaxed way to finish the trip, with plenty of time for goodbyes before heading home.Accommodation:
We’ll be staying at Ilam Hall YHA, a striking gothic-style building set within 84 acres of National Trust parkland. Our group will have exclusive use of cosy bunk rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.Comfort Grade: Level 3 – Group Accommodation

Princes Risborough Hike – Lyde Gardens & Bledlow Ridge - Chilterns - 17km
Princes Risborough station, Station Approach, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, HP27 9DN, Buckinghamshire, GBJoin us for a beautiful 16.7 km (10.4 mile) circular hike from Princes Risborough Station into the Chiltern Hills. With 340 m of total ascent, this walk offers rolling countryside, open views, and a mix of woodland and farmland paths. Along the way we’ll pause at Lyde Gardens, a peaceful hidden spot in the town centre, before heading out into the hills.
Highlights:
- A visit to the tucked-away Lyde Gardens, a quiet ornamental garden in the heart of Princes Risborough.
- Wide views from the top of Lodge Hill and Bledlow Ridge.
- Peaceful tracks through Callow Down, Radnage Bottom, and open farmland.
- Woodland walking near Chinnor Hill and the edge of Bledlow Great Wood. A mix of charming villages and rural landscapes that show the best of the central Chilterns.Walk Description:

The hike:
From Princes Risborough Station, we make a short detour to visit Lyde Gardens, a tranquil public garden tucked behind the High Street. This small green space is one of the town’s hidden gems, with streams, ponds, and shady paths creating a peaceful corner before we set out into the hills. The route then heads south through fields and quiet tracks towards Saunderton. From here, the first main climb takes us up to Lodge Hill (209 m), where wide views stretch across the Vale of Aylesbury. Continuing through Callow Down and around Radnage Bottom, we weave between farms and meadows before tackling the second main climb onto Bledlow Ridge, rewarded with panoramic views across the Chilterns.The route descends steadily towards Bledlow, passing near the edge of Bledlow Great Wood and Chinnor Hill, before looping back across open countryside via Saunderton Lee. A final stretch across farmland paths brings us back into Princes Risborough and the station, completing the circuit. The route includes two main climbs — a steady rise early on, and a sharper ascent before Bledlow Ridge — balanced by easier paths and long downhill sections.
